Time to Stitch #8 Reveal: What's Your Bag?

My bag is actually a polymer clay box that was part of a huge polymer clay purchase I made on eBay several years ago. The photo below shows the box as part of the purchase over to the right center where I added a little red arrow to point it out. In the close-up you see I added some hardware so I could hang it as part of our challenge and dress it up a bit.

One of the more curious parts of the box is that it has a little drawer that slides out. hmmmm Seemed like a good place for some resin work.

The below beading quote is one of my favorites and that is what landed in the little drawer:

And then I needed a neckstrap.... something fun and flirtatious. A few of you may have seen a peek of what I created in a blog post a couple weeks ago.

This is how it looks all put together:

Thanks to Therese and Christine for hosting another super-fun challenge. Let's visit the other Time to Stitch party-goers to take a look at their bags:

Hi Paula,
Gorgeous amulet! I was hoping the beaded chain was going to be for this challenge and I was not disappointed. I love the polymer clay box and the quote you chose to use for the inside of the pull out drawer. I think at one time or another all of us beaders has said just that and then laughed because we knew that was a joke! Thank you for participating in this round of ATTS challenges and hope that you will join us in the next ATTS challenge.

Fun and flirtatious is right! The chain is gorgeous and looks like it has good strength and great texture. And that little magic polymer box is so incredibly cool! I love this piece and how you put together your amulet box! What a hysterical mantra inside ;-) Thanks for being a part of this, Paula!

Hi Paula, Your purse is a real one of a kind. It is a brilliant idea of how to use the clay box. The quote is so true. Your beaded strap is wonderful. I have been meaning to thank you for the polymer pieces that you sent me. I have never worn the necklace that I made with one of them that I have not received glowing praise for it from someone. So thank you very much for your generosity.

You've combined some of my all-time favorites in your design - polymer clay, resin, and an embellished rope. Such an original and very, very cool piece. And how much fun would this be to wear to a holiday event!!

What I love the most about blog hops (other than the challenge itself) is in how many different ways can one take an idea and implement it. A bag out of a polymer box - that surely is a first for me :) Excellent work - love it.

I really like the polymer box, and the drawer. I often use containers and hidden messages in my work - this is a great structure!

Oh, how cool! I love that you included a little inspirational message to yourself - especially since it captures the true spirit of the beaders in the challenge. Really nice work!

Ohhhh, Paula, what a prize that is!...and your beaded strap enhances beautifully, without overwhelming the little bag. Stunning!

The box, the quote, the neck strap --- perfect. Fun and flirtatious indeed. It's a conversation piece. If I saw you with that I would be drawn to you instantaneously to talk to you about it. What a great take on this challenge!
