Time to Stitch #4: Featuring Net Stitch

Thanks to our hostesses Therese Frank and Christine Altmiller for organizing A Time to Stitch #4. When Therese first posted about the challenge, I was just in the early stages of my holiday beading. So my projects have a definite holiday theme and look a little weird now that it's January 15!

The first is a self-design with a netted base to hold the tiny red and green bells, which I purchased at a craft store for next to nothing. I love how they look on the strap!  Finishing the necklace strap is 3 inches of herringbone on each side.

The netting is a little easier to see in the photo below.

I was on a holiday roll so decided to add a bracelet to the ensemble. The pattern is called "Coco Chenille" and is a Nancy Cain design from Beadwork magazine.

Those are both beautiful. Did you embellish the netting in the first necklace? I love how the bells drape in the center.

I've wanted to try that coco chenille bracelet for a while now and yours looks fabulous. I think I'll be digging out my back issues. :)

These are a welcome sight in the cold, dreary winter! Holiday colors are welcome any time of year, but especially January. Your bell necklace is sensational! Jewelry that either has movement or makes sound really excites me and I can just hear the tinkling of those tiny bells. And that Coco bracelet~I am going to do what Tanya said and look through all my back issues. That is gorgeous! Those candy bead are the perfect way to finish these off. Thanks so much Paula!

Hi Paula,
Thank you for participating in mine and Christine's ATTS4. Your pieces are so beautiful. I know I would enjoy wearing the necklace hear the jingle bells ring as I move around would just bring a constant smile to my face. I love the bracelet and I am going to have to back through my issues to find it or maybe you could just tell me which Beadwork it was published in.
I hope that you will join us for ATTS5.

I love your holiday designs. That bracelet knocked my socks off. I'm imagining it in other color combinations, too, but love yours with the candy lampwork.

Both really beautiful pieces! Love those bells, that will be such a special necklace each year. The colors you chose for the bracelet really set off that pattern to perfection!

Oh, Paula, they are adorable - the loveliest little things I've ever seen! I love holidays jewelry, and if you tell me those tiny jingle bells even jingle I will be incredibly happy :) I'm happy anyhow, just looking at the gorgeous colours and designs!

Yes, I did embellish the netting with the little bells. I just started stitching and did every other one in green then red. Thanks for commenting, Tanya!

What a fun necklace! (I may have to co-op your design and create one for myself next holiday season.) And I know exactly how wonderful the Coco Chenille bracelet feels - I love Nancy's designs and stitched one up for myself when that issue came out. It's one I still wear all the time. Yours just sparkles!

Love them! I made myself a pair of jingle bell earrings for pre-Christmas and got lots of compliments on them...everyone loves jingle bells, and I bet that sounds so lovely worn!
Nice Nancy Cain bracelet as well! I've been meaning to try that one.
