Focus on Life Week 3: Self Portrait

You knew Sally would have to include this one!

I took the easy way out and just plunked myself down in front of my computer. I took a couple pics and couldn't help but think that something was missing -- a prop! So howdee-do I found my hat which had the added benefit of hiding my bed head. Then I applied an oil paint filter.

Here's one with a sketch filter:

And here's the plan old regular one:

Here are some more of our blogging beauties for the week:

Ohhh I'm intrigued by the oil paint filter but I really like the last one of the real you!

Paula I like how you played with the different effects. Looking at the thumbnail I thought you had drawn it. The real shot of you is the best though.

Paula, your face and that great smile are so inviting!! Beautiful self portrait.
I was late posting I was playing with filters, though I didn't post them I was in PicMonkey and had myself covered over in snow flakes. :) Great job with the filters.

These are totally cool Paula! I really like the first two edits but I love the last one - the 'real' one. You look super happy and gorgeous in your hat.

I love the plain photo the best , beautiful smile , then the sketch too. The oil paint effect a bit different.

Such a clever use of the filters! I like them because they add texture and interest. But the last one lets your light shine out! Enjoy the day! Erin

You had fun with the editing part of this project... Next time I will use my 1940's black hat with the veil in place!

You my dear, can pull off a hat! Looks beautiful, and what a smile! I will often play with filters and think it is fun, but somehow I always seem to like the original best.
