Third Annual Ornament Swap

Even though this is the Third Annual, this is my first time to participate in Sally's ornament swap and I was really lucky to have the wonderful partner of Lynne, aka Island Girl from Fireball Studio and Gallery. Look at this wonderful wirework. And the best part is that the lighthouse is removable and can be worn as a pendant so I can enjoy it year-round. I just love the touch of the green leaves and red berries too.

Lynne even added some additional goodies - beer bottle beads. Lynne, how did you know that I enjoy a frosty beverage from time to time?

Thanks so much for the beautifully crafted treasures. They were a perfect start to my holiday!

Here's the package I sent to Lynne. The beaded icicle is a pattern I found online by The Bead's Knees. The art bead at the bottom is by our very own Sue Kennedy.

The bonus ornament was a sweet little star made in peyote diamonds and stitched together with bicone crystals.

To really get in the holiday season, hop on over to see the other participants in this year's swap!

I adore lighthouses, and love the fact that it is removable! What a great treasure for your tree! And I'm very intrigued by the beer bottle beads, never heard of those.

Hi Paula,
The ornament that you received from D Lynne is so very pretty with the cute little lighthouse hanging down in the middle of the copper wreath. The ornaments that you sent to her are very beautiful I love the star. Have fun making something with the beer bottle beads or just hoard them I will not blame you if you do.

What fun! Lynne's ornament just makes me smile, and the fact that it can be worn as a pendant the rest of the year is too cool. And your ornaments are simply beautiful.

Love my ornaments... so does my tree, so far none of the cats have noticed the icicle turning in the breeze! Not out local light house although it should have been as we do have two red and white lighthouses near here. I participated last year as well... I like getting gifts in the mail!

The wire work in D Lynne's ornament is nothing short of fabulous! The fact that the gorgeous pendant makes a 24/7 365 gift! Bonus!! Lately, I have received a few recycled glass beads to add to my stash - my effort in recycling - I LOVE THEM! And the white beaded ornament is one of my favorites! Merry Christmas!

Oh Paula, how clever Lynne is, making the cute little lighthouse removable so that it can be worn as a pendant and the wirework and little holly leaves and berries, it's great!!

Paula, thank you so much for jumping in this year and swapping! I love the ornaments that you sent to Lynne, especially that star! I'm going to have to give that a try. It's so intricate.

Lynn's ornament is beautiful. I love the wire wrapping. The little berries are such a great touch. I love your beaded ornaments also. They are so well done. (I might be looking for an icicle pattern. I want one for my tree.) :)

Vera, here is the link to the tutorial. I probably should have provided it in my post: http://www.thebeadsknees.co.uk/jewelleryprojects/christmasicicle.php

It's a very easy pattern and each one takes about an hour to make. I made over 30 of them this year as Christmas gifties.
